The following information is important – please read it through carefully before you enter your personal application profile in our applicant management system. The Benteler Group respects your interest in the protection of the personal data placed at our disposal. We have provided the required protective measures, which we continually adapt to the state of technology.

Application range of this data protection information

The following notices apply to electronically conveyed applications, in particular:
(i) all personal data included in the application,
(ii) all information derivable from this personal data and referable to the user which are conveyed in connection with the application,
(iii) additional data of third parties (e.g. references to previous employers), which serves the below cited purpose.

For what purposes is your data used?
Benteler and our commissioned service providers work with the personal data only within the scope of our HR selection process. Forwarding this information to other companies outside the Benteler Group or use for other purposes is precluded.

How is your data protected?
The Benteler Group obligates companies that have access to personal information to treat such information as confidential and to provide data protection corresponding to the locally valid provisions. Our service provider Kenexa Corporation is obliged to the "safe harbor" provisions for data protection demanded by certified companies according to EU provisions. Accordingly, these employees are obliged to treat all personal data confidentially. The service provider of our application system for apprentices Lumesse GmbH is subject to protective measures according to German §11 Federal Data Protection Act.

How long does the Benteler Group store its data?
Unless you tell us otherwise, the data is stored for twelve months after its last update, so that it can be used for other possible job vacancies that may become available. Due to the long application and selection periods for trainees, we save their data for up to 24 months (only for Germany).

Correction or deletion of data
After you have uploaded your personal data and curriculum vitae, you can modify this data at any time. If you apply for another position, the data in the applicant database is automatically updated and the current date is saved. Furthermore, you can delete data using the "Delete" field or by sending an e-mail to recruit_de@benteler.de.

What should be taken into account for transferring information to the internet?
Your application form, all information contained therein, and all information you submit within the scope of the application procedure is transferred via the Internet, which is accessible to everyone. You must note that this transfer method is not secure, and the data, independent of the location of the sender or receiver, can be transferred without restriction beyond national borders. Neither the Benteler Group nor any of our external service providers can accept any form of liability (whether for injury, loss, or other damage) with respect to candidates based on the consequences of the transfer of your personal data (including possible faults, delays, or interruption of the transfer) over the internet.
