Can I just send you my application by e-mail? I don't like online applications.
Online application systems are not always easy to use. However, they serve a purpose and they offer you and us great advantages: your application can be reviewed faster by several individuals, and you can apply for several positions, and let us find the one most suitable for you. I have a bachelor's degree/master's degree/doctorate and would now like to complete an internship before I start to work. Is this possible?
The Benteler Group is committed to the rules of the "Fair Company" initiative.
As a graduate you come aboard not as a trainee, but with a completed academic professional training; we do not employ Diploma and Master graduates as trainees. You can best gather practical experience during your course of study. Exception: If you have concluded your Bachelor degree and would like to make use of the waiting period before beginning your Master course of study, we would gladly consider your application.
I would like to write my final thesis at Benteler. Must I previously complete an internship?
An internship helps you train in the topic of your final thesis. The practical fundamentals are often worked out during an internship and form the basis for the final thesis. An internship also helps you get to know and better understand the work environment, the departments, and the Company. As a rule, therefore, we recommend that you do an internship before you write your final thesis.
During the semester break I have only six weeks for an internship because of the Bachelor/Master – is this possible?
We are aware of the problem that with the introduction of the bachelor's and master's degrees, students often have a full curriculum and are also greatly restricted in their semester break. As a rule, however, internships here require between three and six months. In a company as complex as the Benteler Group, a shorter internship is simply not worthwhile. Therefore, make the best of your opportunities and be creative: perhaps complete an internship after the conclusion of your Bachelor, while you are waiting for the start of the Master course of study. Or you can include a practical semester, which will give you important and valuable experience.
Am I paid for my internship?
Of course! Your services here are not for nothing; they are rewarded accordingly. Depending on where you are in your studies, we pay you a fair market salary. Student trainees who come to us within the scope of a school curriculum are indeed not paid, but they receive a well-structured and supervised introduction to different fields of employment.
Can I complete a part-time internship?
Combining studies with an internship sometimes requires flexibility. With the consent of your supervising department, you maybe excused on occasion to attend seminars or take examinations and properly prepare for them. And our flextime arrangement makes it possible for you to easily combine work and private life. However, our trainees as a rule have 35-hour contracts, so it is not possible to work only on certain days of the week. There are factory student activities for this purpose, which are posted on our job market.
After my internship/final thesis, can I keep my contact with Benteler?
Yes – especially with committed students, after the end of the internship/final thesis we remain in contact and support you in your development with our student-alumni program BENTalent.
