Benteler Formula Students, UPB Racing Team e.V., Paderborn University
Since 2007, Benteler has supported the UPB Racing Team of Paderborn University. The 70 students on the team design, build, and market a racing car and enter international competitions against the teams of other universities. The Association of German Engineers (VDI) sponsors the Formula Student Germany program. Building a one-seat formula racing car is the final goal, demanding close student teamwork in order to compete against other teams from all over the world. For Formula Students, the winner is not just the fastest car, but the team with the best complete package of design and racing performance, financial planning, and sales arguments. The experience richly supplements their studies in gathering diverse practical experience in various fields.
