The Benteler Group, with its Automotive, Steel/Tube and Distribution Divisions, is synonymous with leading-edge competence in material, manufacturing and technology. We have striven for 140 years to combine business success with social engagement, employee development, social responsibility and environmental awareness. With innovative products and processes we develop our business continuously and thereby create added value for our customers – in harmony with mankind and the environment.
How we do that, is set out in our sustainability publications:
Here's an extract for you:
Energy consumption in the Automotive Division has been falling for years. Carbon emissions, too, have been decreasing. Because as an organization with international operations, the BENTELER Group has a responsibility to design processes in a sustainable way and to thereby protect the environment. Saving resources is a corporate goal, on a par with adherence to the highest quality and safety standards.
For the second time BENTELER has extended its support for the endowed professorship in “Lightweight construction in cars” at the University of Paderborn. This professorship was set up ten years ago. As part of the SchuBS initiative, schoolchildren can have a taste of the world of work at BENTELER. And for 15 years BENTELER has been offering placements to students on dual-studies courses at Paderborn.
Together with world market leader RIOGLASS, BENTELER Distribution has created a solar farm in Morocco that generates 200 megawatts of energy per year from the power of the sun.
With regard to continuing education and management development, the employees of BENTELER Automotive took part in a total of 545,498 hours of training in 2016. That means that every employee in the Division spent an average of 23 hours per year in continuing development.
