Salzburg, December 21st, 2016 – As previously announced, Hubertus Benteler is transferring from the Executive Board to
the Supervisory Board of BENTELER International AG as of April 1, 2017. Also effective April 1, Ralf Göttel will be appointed CEO of the international technology company. This was decided by the Supervisory Board at its meeting on December 16. Ralf Göttel (50) is currently CEO of BENTELER Automotive, the Group’s largest division which accounts for about 75 percent of total sales. In this position, he has successfully forged ahead with the strategic realignment of the division in recent years. Guido Huppertz, currently Executive Vice President Corporate Finance, Controlling and Accounting, will be made Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the BENTELER International AG. The exact date of his appointment will be announced at a later time. Isabel Diaz Rohr, who has been a member of the Executive Board since January 2016, remains responsible for the board divisions HR, Communications/Marketing, and IT.


“By taking this step, we will complete a smooth leadership transition to ensure we are ideally prepared for the future,” explains Hubertus Benteler. “We are filling key positions with strong and experienced leaders from within the company who will carry on the Group’s work in line with our existing philosophy.”

Ralf Göttel (50) is currently CEO of BENTELER Automotive, the Group’s largest division accounting for 75 percent of total sales. “Ralf Göttel has set BENTELER Automotive on the right strategic course and brought the division back on track for economic success. He has the necessary experience and leadership qualities to lead the Group into the future,” says Hubertus Benteler.

Guido Huppertz (48) has worked for the company for over 15 years and has been in charge of the Corporate Finance, Controlling and Accounting functions at BENTELER International AG since 2012. “Guido Huppertz has many years of financial executive experience and we are delighted that we could win him for this important task,” says Hubertus Benteler.


Boris Gleißner (54),
Co-Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of BENTELER International AG, will leave the company at his own request and agreement to take on a new challenge. The exact date of his departure will 2 be announced at a later time. He will gradually hand over his duties to Guido Huppertz. Boris Gleißner has been a member of the Board since 2013. “We owe a big debt of gratitude to Boris Gleißner for many things, including his cooperative partnership. During his time as a Board member, he has made a large contribution toward keeping our company on course. We wish him all the best for the future,” comments Hubertus Benteler. The appointment of Ralf Göttel as Chairman of the Board of BENTELER International AG leads to further changes in the BENTELER Automotive division:


Laurent Favre (45)
becomes the new CEO as of April 1, 2017. The Frenchman has been at BENTELER Automotive since 2012 and a member of the Executive Board there since 2014. In this position, he has managed the operational implementation of the strategic realignment and provided added impetus in the continuing development of the value chain. He thus has the leadership skills, international experience, and know-how to keep the division on its growth trajectory.

Oliver Lang (52), Executive Vice President (EVP) of the Engine & Exhaust Systems Business Unit, will join the division’s executive team as Chief Technical Officer (CTO) as of April 1, 2017.
