Stable revenue, higher earnings: BENTELER remains on course in 2025 financial year

Eike Dalhoff, Spokesperson

Salzburg, March 19, 2026. In an environment shaped by geopolitical tensions, volatile markets, and challenging economic conditions, the BENTELER Group demonstrated resilience in the 2025 financial year. The company continued on the course of recent years and further improved its profitability. The increase in earnings, driven by both the Automotive and Steel/Tube businesses, underscores the effectiveness of the Group’s strategy.

Ralf Göttel, CEO of the BENTELER Group said: "2025 was a dynamic year in every respect. That made it all the more important to set clear priorities and implement them consistently. And that is exactly what we did: BENTELER delivered what it set out to achieve. Especially given the volatile market environment, we are satisfied with the 2025 financial year.”

Specifically, the BENTELER Group generated revenue of €8,046 million in 2025, roughly on par with the previous year’s €8,170 million. At the same time, the company increased its operating result adjusted for one-off effects (adjusted EBITDA) to €641 million – an increase of €47 million, or around 8%, compared with 2024 (€594 million).

Tobias Braun, CFO of the BENTELER Group, said: “Our solid financial performance had already convinced investors by midyear. This enabled us to secure our refinancing early and on improved terms, strengthening our financing base for the long term. That gives us the stability we need to invest selectively in growth markets, sustainability, and future technologies.”

Solid performance in the divisions

The global automotive market saw moderate growth in 2025, with differing regional developments. While vehicle production in China and India increased – particularly driven by stronger demand for electrified vehicles – Europe and the entire North and South America region remained flat. These are markets in which BENTELER generates the majority of its Automotive revenue.

Nevertheless, the Automotive divisions held their ground in this challenging environment and improved profitability despite partially declining volumes. The Group’s largest division, BENTELER Automotive Components, achieved adjusted EBITDA of €361 million (previous year: €365 million), while the modules business increased its adjusted earnings to €115 million (previous year: €107 million).

The Steel/Tube division performed significantly better in 2025 than in the previous year. Stable demand in the energy sector as well as positive momentum from the North American business with tubes for the oil and gas industry supported performance, even though distortions in international steel trade continue to present challenges. The division improved its adjusted earnings to €162 million (previous year: €116 million), while its adjusted EBITDA margin rose significantly to 12.4% (previous year: 9.8%).

Strategic decisions and future investments

In 2025, BENTELER took important steps to support sustainable success. A key milestone was the successful refinancing: with a €600 million bond and a new €1.4 billion credit facility, the company secured long-term financing on improved terms – and significantly earlier than planned.

Operationally, BENTELER further expanded its global presence. In Morocco, the groundbreaking ceremony took place for a new component plant, and in China BENTELER opened a new module plant together with automotive supplier BHAP (Beijing Hainachuan Automotive Parts). In addition, the company continued to optimize its production processes. For example, by improving the use of scrap in the electric steel plant in Lingen, BENTELER increased annual capacity by around 20,000 tons while also improving energy efficiency.

At the same time, the company is also advancing the decarbonization of its production in other areas. More than 70% of BENTELER’s plants worldwide are now operated with green electricity. In addition, the company is securing the long-term supply of renewable energy through the conclusion of power purchase agreements (PPAs) and is investing in energy-efficient production processes.

In the field of autonomous mobility, the HOLON subsidiary achieved important progress in 2025. A key milestone was approval for Level 4 autonomy – a significant step toward fully autonomous vehicles. Initial real-world deployments in pilot projects such as ALIKE in Hamburg, Germany are already demonstrating the technology in an urban environment.

150 years of BENTELER: an anniversary as motivation for the future

The successes of the 2025 financial year form the basis for a special year: in 2026, BENTELER celebrates its 150th anniversary. What began as a small hardware store in Bielefeld has developed into an internationally active group. “Since 1876, the company has stood for reliability, innovative strength, and entrepreneurial courage. Our 150th anniversary is a milestone that motivates us to actively shape the mobility and industry of tomorrow – just as we have done in the past. With a clear strategy, strong innovative capabilities, and the commitment of our employees, we are well positioned for the future,” Ralf Göttel concluded.
