This summer, 128 young people will begin their careers at BENTELER – 108 of them in the East Westphalia-Lippe (OWL) region. Fabian Fricke, Training Manager at BENTELER, explains: "We are delighted with the high level of interest in training at BENTELER. We received around 2,000 applications this year, 1,600 of which were from OWL alone – a new record compared to previous years. This high level of interest is also the result of numerous initiatives with and for potential applicants, such as open days, technology taster days, and school partnerships."
At a total of eight locations in Germany, young professionals are starting their training in metalworking or electrical trades, or alternatively in commercial or IT professions. At the Paderborn location, 18 dual students are also starting in various fields such as mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, (business) informatics and finance & accounting.
Joint team and skills training for an ideal start
From Monday to Wednesday (September 22 to 24), the young talents from all over Germany came together for joint introductory days at the company's own Training and Further Education Center in Schloß Neuhaus. In addition to a question and answer session with Ralf Göttel, CEO of the BENTELER Group, the apprentices had the opportunity to get to know each other better through joint project work during the event. They also took part in various induction courses to prepare them for their forthcoming training. On Tuesday, the participants had to solve various tasks together as part of a team-building event. There were also courses on life kinetics and stress management, as well as the opportunity to compete in sports.
Experience ensures future-oriented training
Fabian Fricke, Head of Training: “The current situation reflects the high value that BENTELER places on training. As an employer, we offer our apprentices and dual students a great deal: modern training content, digital learning methods, global perspectives, for example through stays abroad, and a strong community that encourages and challenges them.”
With more than 30 years of training experience, BENTELER offers a future-oriented and interdisciplinary training program. This allows apprentices to not only gain practical experience in a state-of-the-art factory environment, but also to access innovative continuing education formats and digital learning. However, the focus of the training is not exclusively on imparting technical skills.
Fabian Fricke: “It’s just as important to us to promote social and personal skills. Our goal is to train young people who will find their way both professionally and personally – ideally as part of the BENTELER family.”
