Automation Improves Logistics Processes in Shenyang
Stephan Knüttel, VP Corporate Comm./Marketing BENTELER Group
An automated warehouse system has been implemented at the Shenyang site to handle key goods receipt and warehousing processes. Materials are stored flexibly, while assembly lines are supplied via automated guided vehicles (AGVs).
Automation reduces manual transport, improves safety, and enables more efficient control of material flows. Every day, the system coordinates approximately 700 material flows and 3,500 handling units via a direct connection to the existing warehouse management system.
The project was implemented within a few months and demonstrates how quickly modern technologies can be integrated into existing production processes. The insights gained will also be applied to other sites in the future to systematically tap into automation potential.
