30th anniversary of our plant in Puebla, Mexico

The installation of the first welding line in October 1992 set the course for a successful journey of our Mexican assembly plant in Puebla.

The ceremonial opening of the plant took place on April 23, 1993.

After that, the company became stronger and stronger, exporting products to Germany as early as 1994. Only one year later the pipe production for gasoline tanks started and the first brazing furnace was successfully installed.

In the last 7 years new technologies like a new KTL painting line and an aluminum line were installed to produce new products for our customers.
In 2022, the assembly plant won the TESLA project and achieved the bronze level in the Compass audit.

Victor Manuel Cota Elorriaga, Cluster Manager Mexico, summarizes, "Throughout our history, we have grown exponentially, overcoming different challenges that have helped us grow as an organization and team. Through it all, we have always maintained the passion that sets us apart in the manufacturing of stampings and weldments for the automotive industry, developing and implementing the most advanced technology in the industry, achieving and exceeding the highest quality standards that our customers demand."

In addition to its successful plant history, BENTELER has left other marks in the Puebla community, the Technical Training Center (TTC). The TTC is a training and development center focused to support young people who are orphans. It gives these individuals a chance at technical careers to help support them towards success in the future. The first apprenticeship program was started in 2006 and was modeled after the dual German apprenticeship program (80% practice, 20% theory).

This apprenticeship program lasts three years and the specialties are:

- Toolmaker
- Quality Inspector
- Mechanic
- Robotics
- Electronics

The TTC accepts 12 students per year, and so far, 146 students in 15 generations have been trained and graduated under this apprenticeship model. 30 years of BENTELER in Puebla - we sincerely thank all the employees who have contributed to this great story.
